How to become a BHCC Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Bret Harte Middle School. As a Bret Harte Community Club volunteer, you are enhancing the experience of our teachers, staff, and students, as well as connecting with other volunteers in our Bret Harte community.

Please fill out the “Volunteer Interest Area Specification” form listed on the left, indicating which volunteer role(s) you are interested in. Regardless of which volunteer area you have selected, please read the SJUSD’s “Volunteer Policies” document (http://go.sjusd.org/VolunteerPolicies) to ensure you are comfortable with the expectations of a district/school volunteer.

NOTE: Volunteer roles listed in bold letters on the “Volunteer Interest Area Specification” form require SJUSD clearance and school principal approval, due to direct interaction with students. If you have indicated any role(s) requiring district “clearance”, please refer to the “Volunteer Clearance Process” document listed on the left for detailed information on obtaining your clearance.

Please return your completed form to the Bret Harte School Services office. You will receive an email from the BHCC Volunteer Coordinator confirming receipt of your completed form. Then, the respective volunteer area lead(s)/chairperson(s) will reach out to you to get you started.
