8th Grade Promotion Party

The Promotion Party is a special evening event for 8th grade students ready to promote to High School. The event includes food, dancing, elaborate decor, entertainment and pictures; and creates lasting memories of their Bret Harte experience for students and their friends.
Promotion Party Details
When: Friday, May 15th ​@ 5:00-8:00pm
Where: Bret Harte Middle School
Cost: $35 per student (assistance available)
Requirements: Signed permission slip, wristband for entry
Deadline to submit permission slip and purchase tickets is Friday, May 8th @ 1:00pm

Chair Responsibilities
  • Act as lead to coordinate the 8th Grade Promotion Dance. 
  • Create timeline, budget and permission slip.
  • Complete approvals and contracts for all vendors and purchases by deadlines.
  • Enlist support by creating sub committees through the BHCC Volunteer Chair.
  • Create theme with the decorations lead and committee.
  • Purchase personalized giveaways.
  • Manage inventory from past dances and events.
  • Host meetings and send emails to communicate requirements, budget and deadlines to sub-committee leads and volunteers.
  • Be present and point of contact throughout the planning phase and at key events such as sales, set up, event and clean up.
  • Manage post event requirements such as inventory and storing of left over decorations and catering supplies, signage and electrical supplies, wrap up over view of event and suggestions, expense report and reimbursements.
