Donation Drive

The Bret Harte Community Club is delighted to announce that we have exceeded our donation drive budget for the 2021-2022 school year!  We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who was able to help us meet our goal!  Through these kind donations and corporate match amounts, we have raised nearly $63,000 for our Bret Harte students, teachers, and staff.

The funds will be spent over the course of the school year on the following: technology, books, parent education events, safety/emergency prep, staff appreciation, PEST, Cornerstone, Everyday Heroes, Career Day, Cultural Fair, and Bronco Nights.  The BHCC Board is also researching new programs to bring to your students and we hope to announce these in early 2022.  Please note that it is never too late to donate to the Community Club.  We accept contributions all year long through Pay Pal, Zelle, and check.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.

If you contributed to BHCC in 2021 and would like a tax donation letter, please contact our donation drive chair as soon as possible at: [email protected].  Letters will be emailed to donors in PDF format for printing upon request.

Thank you again for helping BHCC reach and surpass our donation drive goal!

Help us foster Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility at Bret Harte Middle School.

Be on the lookout for BRONCO BUCKS!

Did you know you can be a lucky gift card winner for simply demonstrating positive character traits at school?

Teachers are handing out Bronco Bucks to students who demonstrate assets such as Caring, Cooperation, Confidence, Commitment to Excellence, Good Judgement, Honesty, Helping Others, Reliability, Responsibility, or Respect.  If a teacher sees that you have demonstrated one of these assets they might award you with a BRONCO BUCK!  Bring this Bronco Buck to the BH office and you will be entered into a raffle to win a Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, or Amazon gift card! There are THREE student winners every week so it's never too late to show your teachers how many of these assets you have and your chances of winning are pretty good because we will be selecting winners all throughout the school year.  We've already had 6 student winners.  We will also be doing a raffle for teachers to win once a month for a $50.00 Amazon purchase for acknowledging the good traits of the students and handing out these BRONCO BUCKS !! Good luck!

Tune in to see what BHCC is planning to bring with the help of wonderful donations we have got from you dedicated parents.

After school Coding classes at Bret Harte

What do a calculator and a video game have in common? They are both applications that can be built by your student in the new after-school coding classes brought to you by BHCC! In the next few weeks, programming classes in Python and Java will be available for a limited number of Bret Harte students. Look for more details about the classes and sign up process starting next week on our facebook page.

ANNOUNCING A NEW BRET HARTE STRINGS MUSIC PROGRAM!

The Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) board is excited to announce that it is in the process of planning an after-school strings music program. This program will start in the Fall of 2022 and run the course of the 2022-2023 school year.

We would like to offer two classes: Beginner strings and Advanced strings.
Instruments in both classes will include violin, viola, cello and bass.

The classes will likely be on Wednesdays starting in September and run from 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm for Beginner strings and 4:30 pm - 5:15 pm for Advanced strings. We are requesting parent participation and student commitment to help run this program.

If your child is interested in participating in the after-school strings program planned for next year by BHCC, please contact our BHCC Secretary so she can send you more information. Please note that the cost will likely be $50 per student to register.  A Fall and Spring performance will be included with the classes. Since we have limited seats only serious interest should contact our BHCC Secretary can be reached at
